Workflows

Build and run repeatable presentation processes from approved PowerPoint masters.

A workflow turns an approved master deck into a repeatable presentation process. It defines the templates, prompts, inputs, and generation rules offgen should use for a particular deliverable.

Examples include a sales proposal, company profile, recurring report, pitchbook, or board update.

Create a workflow

Workflow creation and editing take place in the offgen web app.

  1. Open Workflows.
  2. Upload a .pptx master deck, or start from scratch.
  3. Choose whether the workflow is private or shared with your organization.
  4. Let offgen extract the deck’s layouts and slide templates.
  5. Configure the workflow prompt, user inputs, slide sequence, and template choices.
  6. Save and test the workflow before others use it.

Organization defaults—such as brand voice, image guidance, icon source, and bullet style—are applied alongside workflow-specific settings.

Run a workflow in PowerPoint

  1. Open the Home tab in the offgen add-in.
  2. Choose a workflow from your organization or personal space.
  3. Enter the requested presentation context and attach any source files.
  4. Choose Start.
  5. Follow the run in the task pane and review the generated slides in PowerPoint.

When to use a workflow

Use a workflow when the output should follow a known structure or approved set of templates. Use the AI Agent for a one-off slide, direct deck edit, or open-ended task that does not need a repeatable process.

Workflows also power the offgen MCP server, allowing external AI clients to discover the workflow’s required inputs and generate the same governed .pptx output.
