# Skills

Save reusable instructions for the offgen agent and use them with / in the AI Agent chat or the web chat.

A skill is a set of reusable instructions for the offgen agent, such as your brand voice or how to structure a client update. Use it in the [AI Agent](/docs/agent) chat in PowerPoint or in the web chat at app.offgen.ai.

## Create a skill

1. In the **AI Agent** tab, open the **+** menu (**Add files, skills and more**) and select **Manage skills**. This opens [Skills](https://app.offgen.ai/skills) in the web app.
2. Select **New skill** and fill in:
   * **Name**, for example "Brand voice".
   * **Command**: lowercase letters, digits and hyphens. You type `/command` in the chat to use it.
   * **Available to**: **Only me** or **Everyone in the organization**. Only Admins and Owners see this choice.
   * **When to use**: tells the agent when the skill applies.
   * **Instructions**: what the agent should do, in Markdown.
3. Optionally add **Files**: documents the agent reads, scripts it can run, or assets. PDF, Word and PowerPoint files are converted to text. Up to 50 files, 25 MB each.
4. Select **Create skill**.

To reuse a skill from elsewhere, select **Import** and choose a `SKILL.md` or `.zip` file. **Export** saves a skill as **Skill folder (.zip)** or **SKILL.md only**.

## Use a skill

* In the chat, type `/` and pick the skill, or open **+ → Skills**.
* The agent can also pick a skill on its own when your request matches its **When to use** text. The chat then shows **Loaded skill**.

## Personal and organization skills

If a personal skill has the same command as an organization skill, your personal one is used in your chats.
