# Design systems

Describe your corporate design once so offgen designs new slides in your colors, fonts and style.

A design system holds your organization's colors, fonts, masters and design guidance. offgen uses it when it designs a slide from scratch, for example in [AI Creative](/docs/ai-creative).

## Create a design system

1. Open [Design systems](https://app.offgen.ai/design-systems) and select **New design system**.
2. Choose how to start:
   * **From a deck:** drop a presentation you already use, ideally your company master or a recent deck. offgen reads its theme colors, fonts, shapes and layouts. This takes about 2 to 5 minutes.
   * **By hand:** select **Start manual setup**, pick a direction (**Image-heavy**, **Visual / diagrammatic** or **Text-focused**) and your three main colors.
3. Review the result. Select **Use this design system**, or **Apply and fine-tune** to adjust it first.

## Edit a design system

Open a design system from the list. The editor has sections for the design direction, colors, typography, bullets, icons, shapes, guidance and layouts.

* Under **Guidance**, set the **Default content density** (**Lean**, **Balanced** or **Detailed**) and write rules for slide style, deck structure, images and icons.
* Select **Save** when you're done.
* **Make default** makes it your organization's default design system.

On the list, you can also **Copy** a design system or delete it.

> Matching works by master. A design system applies when the slide's master has the same theme colors and fonts as the design system's master, plus the same master name or a layout with the same name. Build the design system from the master your team actually uses.
