# CI Check

Check a deck against your organization's brand guidelines and fix the findings from the add-in.

Source: https://www.offgen.ai/docs/ci-check

CI Check compares every slide in the open deck with your organization's brand guidelines and lists what breaks them. Many findings can be fixed with one click.

**Where:** Home → CI Check in the offgen add-in · **Who:** all members; Admins set the guidelines

CI Check is hidden in new organizations until an Admin turns it on. See [Choose what the add-in shows](/docs/admin/deploy-add-in#choose-what-the-add-in-shows).

## Run a check

1. Open **Home → CI Check**.
2. Select **Run check**. offgen reads all slides and checks them against the rules.
3. Read the summary, for example "4 findings on 2 slides". Findings are grouped by slide.
4. Filter with **All**, **Errors** or **Warnings**. Select **Show on slide** to jump to the shape a finding refers to.

After you change the deck, select **Run again**.

## Fix findings

* **Fix** corrects one finding in your deck.
* **Fix all** corrects every finding that has an automatic fix. The button shows how many.
* Findings marked **Manual** have no automatic fix. Change them yourself in PowerPoint.
* **Show fixed** brings back findings you already fixed; **Hide fixed** hides them again.

> Fixes change the slides in your deck right away. Look over the slides after **Fix all**.

## What it checks

Admins choose which rules are on and whether a rule reports an **Error** or a **Warning**:

| Rule | Checks |
| ---------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Fonts | Which font families may appear, and what replaces others |
| Font sizes | Minimum, maximum and allowed sizes, overall and per text role |
| Colors | The brand palette for text, fills and outlines |
| Bullets | The bullet character per indent level, and whether numbered lists are allowed |
| Layout | The safe area every shape has to stay inside |
| Hygiene | Empty placeholders, stray shapes and overlong lists |

## Set up brand guidelines

If no guidelines exist, CI Check shows **No brand guidelines yet** with **Open web settings**.

1. Open [Settings → Brand guidelines (CI Check)](https://app.offgen.ai/settings/brand-guidelines) at app.offgen.ai.
2. Turn rules on and fill in their values. Or use **Configure with AI**: describe your corporate identity in plain words, select **Apply to draft** and review the rules.
3. Select **Test with a deck** to upload a `.pptx` and preview the findings. Nothing is stored.
4. Select **Save**. The add-in checks against the saved rules from then on.

Only Admins can change the guidelines. Everyone else can view them and test decks.

> No offgen account? The free [PowerPoint Template Checker](/en/tools/powerpoint-template-checker) checks a `.pptx` against its template (fonts, colors, placeholders, alt text, off-slide shapes and masters) in your browser.
